Visa Free Travel To Brazil – Indians Too Are Exempted From Tourist Visa

• Indians can now stay for up to 90 days in Brazil without a visa

The tourism visa policies are the world are changing and it is time to enjoy visa free travel to Brazil.  As part of Brazilian President Bolsonaro’s policy to cut down on visa requirements for tourists from developed and developing countries, Indian tourists can also now enjoy visa free travel to Brazil.

Visa Free Travel To Brazil – The Changing Brazil Visa Policy

Brazil has a very tourist-friendly visa policy. There are many countries from where citizens with normal passports can enter Brazil and stay for predetermined lengths of time without a visa.

Citizens of Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Singapore can visit Brazil for up to 30 days without a visa while Venezuelan citizens can stay in the country or up to 60 days without a visa. Brazil currently offers visa-free stay for up to 90 days for citizens of over 94 developed and developing countries.

In some cases, tourists may even enter the country on the basis of just their national identity card. For example, Venezuelan citizens can enter Brazil with their identity cards if they do not have a passport.

Within the country, tourists can indulge in a number of cultural and recreational activities, attend conferences, study, teach and participate in different volunteer activities.

However, they are not allowed to receive payment of any kind from Brazilian sources except for entertainment performances, living expenses and daily allowances, competition prizes and reimbursement of travel expenses.

Visas are not required for airport transit for tourists of all nationalities. However, the individual cannot leave the international transit area unless he/she belongs to a visa-exempt country.

The announcement comes after similar announcements for tourists from the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan. Tourists from these countries can now visit Brazil and stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa.  This stay may be extended for a further 90 days.

It is interesting to note that none of these countries has reciprocated by easing visa regulations for Brazilian tourists.

Why Is Brazil Easing Visa Regulations?

As tourism increases so is its contribution to the national economy. Brazil aims to bring the annual contribution of the tourism industry to 25% of its national GDP.
