One of the main reasons for this is because the medical college fees in Ukraine are significantly lower than private medical college fees in India. While a seat in private medical colleges is known to cost around 1 crore including donations, Ukraine’s medical universities have a fee Rs 30-35 lakh.
Studying abroad is not about only fees. There’s also the cost of living to be accounted for. The course duration of a MBBS degree is about 6 years. This is not too much of a worry for Indian students since the hostels are good and affordable as is the food.
2. Easy Availability Of Seats
Admission in Ukraine is an easier process with most universities not asking for an entrance exam. In comparison, while there are over 84,000 medical seats available in Indian medical colleges, the competition is against Recognized degrees million NEET applicants.
3. Internationally Recognized Degrees
Education in Ukraine follows a vertical module system where the students get plenty of clinical exposure and hands-on experience with modern medical equipment. English is the medium of teaching which makes Ukraine more appealing than other European countries.
The degrees awarded by medical universities in Ukraine are recognized by the Indian Medical Council as well as the World Health Council. They are also recognized by other international organizations like the European Council of Medicine and the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom. Once these students return to India with degrees, all that they need to do is clear the Foreign Medical Graduates Exam (FMGE) to get a license to practice.
